Customer Terms
Effective 16 October 2026
These terms apply when you browse around.co.uk or order food from a seller through it. They're short on purpose. Please read them, along with our Privacy Notice, before you order. By placing an order you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Who we are
Around is a trading name of Made Responsively Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14933187, VAT number GB 212 7362 35). Our registered office is 1 St Mary's St, Town Centre, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, HR9 5HT, UK. You can contact us at support@around.co.uk.
In these terms, "Around", "we" and "us" mean Made Responsively Ltd. A "seller" is an independent cook, baker or food business that sells through Around.
What Around does
Around is an online marketplace. We provide the website, ordering and payment tools that let independent sellers run "drops" (limited batches of food available to order for a set collection time) and let you order from them.
When you order, you are buying from the seller, not from Around. The seller makes the food and is responsible for it, including how it is prepared, stored, labelled and handed over, and the allergen and ingredient information they give you. Your contract for the food is with the seller. We are not a party to it, but we help both sides through our platform.
Each seller's page shows who they are and how to contact them. Sellers are responsible for complying with UK food law. We check that sellers are registered as a food business with their local council and look at their food hygiene rating where one exists, but we don't inspect kitchens and we can't guarantee any seller's food.
Ordering
- An order is accepted when you see the order confirmation screen and receive a confirmation email. Until then, availability and prices shown are not guaranteed.
- Drops have limited stock. Items may be held in your basket for a short time while you check out; if the timer runs out, the hold is released.
- Some sellers ask you to confirm something before ordering (for example, collection conditions). If you tick it, you're agreeing to it with that seller.
- You must give accurate contact details so the seller can reach you about your order.
- You must be 18 or over to place an order, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
Prices, fees and payment
- Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where the seller charges it.
- Some sellers pass on part of Around's service fee. Prices shown on Around already include it, apart from any fixed amount charged once per order, which is shown beside each price. Your basket shows the running total including the fee, and checkout shows it as a separate line.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe on behalf of the seller. We never see or store your full card details.
- Some sellers also accept cash or bank transfer. In that case you pay the seller directly, and the seller can cancel the order if payment isn't made as agreed.
- Discount codes, gift cards and loyalty rewards are offered by individual sellers. They can only be used with the seller that issued them and are subject to any conditions the seller sets.
Collection
Orders are for collection at the time and place you choose when ordering. Please collect on time. Food is perishable, and if you don't collect your order the seller doesn't have to keep it, re-arrange collection or give a refund, unless they agree to.
Cancellations and refunds
- The 14-day cancellation period does not apply to food. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you don't have the usual right to cancel an order for goods that are likely to spoil quickly or are made to order.
- If you need to cancel, contact the seller as soon as possible. Whether you get a refund is up to the seller unless the law says otherwise.
- If a seller cancels a drop or your order, you'll get a full refund of what you paid through Around, including any service fee.
- Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, food must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If something is wrong with your order, contact the seller first. They are responsible for putting it right, which may mean a refund or a replacement.
- Card refunds go back to the card you paid with. They usually take 5 to 10 working days to appear.
If you can't resolve a problem with a seller, email us at support@around.co.uk and we'll try to help.
Allergies and food safety
If you have an allergy or intolerance, check the allergen information on each item and contact the seller before ordering if you have any doubts. Sellers are required to tell you which of the 14 major allergens their food contains. The information comes from the seller, and we don't check it. Many sellers cook in home kitchens where cross-contamination with other ingredients is possible.
Keep chilled food in the fridge, follow any storage or reheating instructions the seller gives, and eat it within the date they give.
If you think food has made you ill or isn't safe, you can report it to us using the "Report a concern" link on the seller's page, and you can also contact the local council's environmental health team for the area where the seller is based. In an emergency, call 999 or NHS 111.
Reviews
After collection you may be asked to review your order. Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience. Don't post anything offensive, unlawful or that includes other people's personal details. We may remove reviews that break these rules. We don't accept payment for reviews, and sellers must not offer incentives for positive ones.
Reviews are shown with your first name and the initial of your last name.
Using the site
Please don't misuse Around. That includes trying to get into parts of the site you're not meant to, interfering with how it works, scraping it, placing fake orders, or using it for anything unlawful. You must also follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
We try to keep Around available and working, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Our responsibility to you
- Because the seller sells the food, we aren't responsible for the food itself, or for what sellers say about it, including allergen information.
- We are responsible for providing our own service with reasonable care and skill. If we don't, and you suffer loss that was foreseeable, we'll be responsible for that loss, up to the amount you paid through Around for the order concerned.
- We are not responsible for business losses. Around is for personal use.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Your information
We use your personal information as described in our Privacy Notice. When you order from a seller we share your order and contact details with them so they can fulfil it. The seller is then responsible for how they use that information.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to Around or the law. The version that applies is the one shown here when you place your order. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer laws of those countries still apply to you.
