Create a food item
Create an item in your catalogue so you can use it on one or more drop menus.
What to do
- Open Items and choose Create item.
- Add the item’s Images. Use a clear food photograph; the editor recommends 750 × 750 pixels.
- Enter the Name and a Description explaining the size, ingredients and what is included.
- Set the Base price in pounds. Choose a VAT rate, or leave Default to use the business setting.
- Open Customer choices if customers need to choose a size, flavour or extra. For a pick-your-own box, add a flavour group, set its minimum and maximum and turn on Assortment.
- Enable Special instructions if customers may add a note. Open its settings if a note must be required.
- Complete Food information for the food and its options, then return to the main item form.
- Choose Create item. Return to your drop’s Menu step and add the item when you want to sell it.
What happens next
The item is saved in your catalogue. Adding it to a drop and completing the selling checks makes it available for that drop.
Good to know
Saving an item does not automatically add it to a drop. Incomplete food information can be saved while you work, but must be completed before the item can be sold.
