Set minimum, maximum and repeat selections
Choose whether a group is optional, needs a minimum number of picks or must contain an exact number.
What to do
- Open Itemsyour itemCustomer choices, then edit an option group.
- For a single choice, leave Allow for multiple selections off. Turn Require at least one selection on if customers must choose one option.
- For more than one pick, turn on Allow for multiple selections and open Multiple selections settings using the settings button beside it.
- Turn on Allow multiple selections of the same option if a customer can choose the same flavour or extra more than once.
- Set Up to to the largest number allowed, then At least to the smallest. For a box of six, enter 6 in both fields. Set the maximum first because the minimum cannot exceed it.
- Use At least 0 for optional extras, or a positive minimum for a required group. For example, 0 to 2 allows up to two extras; 2 to 4 requires between two and four picks.
- Select Save in the settings dialog. For a build-your-own box, turn on Assortment as well so Prep totals each flavour.
- Use Preview to test the counter and the limits, including repeated picks if enabled.
- Choose Update option group or the create-group save button, then save the main item form.
What happens next
Customers must meet the minimum and stay within the maximum before adding the item to their basket.
Good to know
Without repeats, the maximum is limited by the number of named options. With repeats, it can be up to 50. If you have five flavours but need six picks, enable repeats or add another flavour. Turning multiple selections off also turns off repeats and Assortment.
